Revelation is also called the Apocalypse because in the original language it is Apocalypsis Iesou Chirstou, the Apocalypse of Jesus Christ. The Greek "apocalypsis" is translated into English as "revelation." |

Warm Up: 1. Did you learn something about Laodicea that you’d like to share?
2. How do you reconcile the two things Jesus said about this church? “You are neither cold nor hot” (3:15). “You are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked” (3:17). 3. Read Deuteronomy 8:11-9:6. From where do I get the power to buy gold and white raiment and eyesalve? For what reason will the church actually go home one day–because she is finally good enough? 4. Scan again Revelation 3:14-22. Find some phrases or images of hope for Laodicea.
5. Describe your meal with Jesus. Who all is present? What does His knock sound like? How do you feel when He makes eye contact with you? What do you eat together? What does He tell you while you eat? Compare all this with what eating with Jesus might be like in the great banquet after He comes again (Revelation 19:6-9).
