The Bible is full of stories of how Israel escaped out of the very teeth of the predator, out of the snare of the catcher. The big stories: out of Egypt with Moses, out of Persia with Esther. The smaller stories within the big stories: Joseph, David, Daniel.
Psalm 124 is a celebration of fantastic deliverances.
You and I have our smaller stories within the larger stories of God's deliverance. I don't have many enemies who want to trap me or bite me at the moment. But I do have enemies like discouragement, ugly attitudes, ungratitude, distractions. I believe I can use this psalm to claim and praise for God's fantastic deliverances every day from those enemies.
You too? |
