I’m His cedar tree planted by the river’s side. I’m His cedar tree, spreading out my roots nearby. It’s bitter drink, God looks around, He points toward my lofty pride, “Cast in my tree!” Cast in my tree at the spring of Marah’s streams, Cast in my three making bitter waters sweet.
Refrain: When you pass through many people, I’ll be with you. When you walk among the people I’ll walk, too. I do set my bow in your thick crowds, Promise that I’ll never let you drown. Even overwhelming depths of troubled people can’t cut off My love!
I saw Jesus walking on the stormy waves. “Oh say, Jesus, bid me come along your way!” Now it was dark, the sea arose, It closed me ‘round, I hollered out, “Lord save me!” And immediately Jesus stretched His hand and caught me, And immediately we two walked a great calm sea.
Beside still waters Jesus leads me on in love, In His green pastures I freely drink the life that flows. Now Him whom waves and wind obey Rebukes their roar, “Be not afraid, Peace be still!” There is a river streams whereof make glad God’s home, A pure clean river, crystal clear and from God’s throne.
