Song of Solomon 2:8-13

As a child and teen I was a hopeless romantic. For me, this passage was the voice of God, my lover, calling me out into nature to enjoy it with Him and for Him to enjoy my enjoyment of its beauty.

Won't you please try reading it that way today. This interpretation is not theologically prohibited.

Now as an adult, I can still manage to read this passage that way, once I disable some of my adult learnings and get back into the wonder of a child. Actually, I think God likes to trigger that sense of wonder in me, sort of like a parent feels happy to see wonder and gratitude on his or her child's face in the discovery of some new gift or beauty.

Let me know, if you will, whether reading it this way caused you to do anything you would not have done without this reading today. Thanks.
