The artist can change his or her mind. Can God change God's mind? Jeremiah 18:1-11

As a child, I watched a lamb born, was overwhelmed with awe. God likes to watch it even in the womb. Psalm 139:1-6,13-16

Paul leaned hard on his friend for a huge favor, forgiveness toward another person, like Jesus in court for me. Philemon 1-21

What do construction, war, and discipleship have in common? Luke 14:25-33

One could see "Hound of Heaven" as a common theme to these readings. God will not throw away the lump of clay. God will follow you anywhere to reach you. God will lean on you to follow Him in forgiveness. God invites discipleship.

Creation is to be astonished and horribly afraid at the stupidity of humans to forsake the living Source and carve out their own broken sources. Jeremiah 2:4-13

Has God perhaps given me what I wanted, rather than what He wanted for me that would truly satisfy me? Psalm 81:1,10-16

Let brotherly love continue because Jesus continues, the same yesterday, today, and forever. This the sacrifice pleasing to Him. Hebrews 13:1-8,15-16

God's anger is not like human anger. God's grief is much greater than human grief at the loss of any of us. Hosea 11:1-11

Reasons to give thanks: When I cry to God in trouble, he rescues, nourishes, leads in a right path, and satisfies. Psalm 107:1-9

Strangest instructions for one man's marriage and family, in the whole Bible, perhaps in the whole world. Hosea 1:2-10

Since God has turned away from His anger, I can ask Him to turn me toward Him; this is how righteousness and peace kiss. Psalm 85

Rooted, complete, quickened in Christ, your way made through all enemies, don't let anyone steal your confidence. Colossians 2:6-19

Unanswered here: If God is so willing to give good, then why did Jesus' parable focus on reluctance until re-asked? Luke 11:1-13

What would be the results of famine in our land, not a famine for food or drink, but a famine for hearing the Word of God? Amos 8:1-12

Another of those "imprecatory" Psalms. If I didn't think there is a devil I wouldn't know how to pray this prayer. Psalm 52

Christ is Creator, previous, source, and preeminent of all, but the greatest mystery is His reconciliation power! Colossians 1:15-28

Service is good, but not to the point of a troubled or judgmental attitude, or to the exclusion of time with Jesus. Luke 10:38-42

One common theme in this week's Lectionary readings might be priorities around Christ and His Word.
