At the beginning of the Gospel of Matthew, Jesus is introduced as Emmanuel, "God with us."
At the end of the same writing, as Jesus’ last words to his followers, He says, "I am with you always."
In between those poignant bookends, is the greatest story ever told of God’s hottest desire and commitment to break down all barriers between God and humans.
God will do anything for connection with us.
"God with us," Jesus with me now, is the most extravagant possibility grace can conceive. |
